Mary Fran's Final Arguement

Between Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights and Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice there are many pros to both, but the one which should be studied is Pride and Prejudice because more people can relate to the story of Elizabeth Bennett and the characters, Mr. Collins, Mr. Darcy, Mr. Whickham, Mrs. Bennett, Jane, and Lydia, she endures. Mr. Collins plays the role of the boy that will never get the girl because of his awkwardness and self-righteousness. Mr. Darcy, who takes the role as the mysterious, yet popular guy, is the one who knows that if he really wanted to, could get any girl, but instead chooses the one girl who would never seem to choose him. The last male who has a modern day equivalent is the girl chasing boy, Mr. Whickham, who does not care who he hurts in the process as long as he gets what he wants Everyone has a Mrs. Bennett in their life, that one person who will stop at nothing to see their somewhat pathetic dreams fulfilled. Jane, a favorite character, is the best friend that every girl has in who she relates everything to. Lydia plays the boy crazy friend who only cares about how many men notice her and the best looking one she can get. It is felt that if Pride and Prejudice is studied, more will be able to be obtained, because understanding the novel is easier and more enjoyable.

Mary Fran,
The best part of your argument is with Mrs. Bennett! You could do much with your claim that everyone has someone like Mrs. Bennett in her life; to claim that this connection makes people more likely to relate to the novel is a good one - you needed to spend more time flushing this out. Much of the rest of this post is just you telling me plot, right? And I just wonder, if the novel is easier do we really need to study it in depth? Overall, well done.
